I was caught off guard as I was looking through my watercolor study sketchbook today. It’s a little Pen & Ink brand I used to pack around in my back pocket to do sketches from life instead of the weird stuff that ends up in my other sketchbooks. It’s been awhile since I picked it up.

I found some pictures from the end of 2012 when my daughter was still in the hospital waiting for her heart. I was surprised by how intensely emotional it was to see these pictures again.
